  16. 2 cloves
  17. 3 tsp Fresh coriander leaves

Instructions to make to make Dal Makhani

  1. Soak whole black gram and Rajma in water for minimum 8-9 hours or whole night
  2. In morning rinse Black gram 2-3 times.
  3. Now add Rajma n black gram in cooker and add 3 cups water in it. Add little salt as well and cook it for 5-6 whistles
  4. Make tomato puree and with tomatoes.
  5. Now heat oil in pan or kadhai add add bay leaf in it. Then add cloves and cinnamon in it
  6. Add finely chopped green chillies in it and stir it. Then add grated ginger. Add tomato puree and stir it for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Add all dry spices in it.
  8. One other burner cook dal on low flame by stiring. Stiring in between is Important because dal may burn from bottom. Black gram is very sticky so stir and mash with spoon lightly
  9. Add this ready tadka on dal and let it cook. stir in between
  10. Add butter in dal and cook it.
  11. Cook dal for minimum 15 minutes on low flame. Add Kasuri methi in it. Add salt.. Remember that we added salt while pressure cook n we use salted butter so I suggest that firstly taste dal and the only add salt.
  12. Off the flame and add fresh cream in dal. Add chopped coriander leaves
  13. Serve dal with tandoori Roti or Rice. Really delicious
