Instructions to make to make Chana Dal Tadka

  1. Take a pressure cooker, add dal & all the given ingredients.
  2. Place the lid, add water accordingly so as to keep dal a lil thick.
  3. Give 6-7 whistles, lower the flame, cook it for 5-7 minutes. Let it cool, keep aside.
  4. Now take a wok or pan, add ghee, heat it.
  5. Add tejpatta & dalchini, saute it for a sec.
  6. Add dry red chilli & zeera, saute it for a while.
  7. Now add onion & coconut pcs, stir fry it till light brown.
  8. Add ginger, saute it for a while.
  9. Now add tomato & very little salt, sprinkle some water, stir fry it till tomato becomes mashy.
  10. Add haldi, dhania & garam masala powder, stir it nicely, add lil water also.
  11. Now add curd & sugar, stir it for a while
  12. Lower the flame now, cover it with the lid b, cook it until ghee has oozed out.
  13. Now add dal, give a quick stir.
  14. Give a boil at high flame. Lower the flame now, cook it for 5 minutes.
  15. Turn off the flame now, take out in a serving bowl, garnish it with chopped dhania patta.
  16. It's a main course dish.
