Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Postor bora, Bhaja moong Dal,Aloo bhaja Bengali style Lunch:

  1. For patties
  2. 200 gms poppy seeds
  3. 1 cup puffed rice
  4. 4-5 green chillies
  5. 1 onion chopped
  6. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  7. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  8. As Per Taste Salt
  9. 2 tbsp fresh coconut grated
  10. 1 tbsp rice flour
  11. 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  12. 1 tsp sugar powder
  13. 4 tbsp mustard oil
  14. For Dal
  15. 1 cup yellow moong dal
  16. 1/2 cup fried fresh coconut small pieces
  17. 2 tbsp oil
  18. 2 tbsp ghee
  19. 2-3 green chillies
  20. 2 dry red chillies
  21. 1 tbsp ginger paste
  22. 1 tsp cumin
  23. 1 tsp cumin powder
  24. 2 tej patta
  25. 1 tsp sugar
  26. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  27. As Per Taste Salt
  28. For Aloo bhaja
  29. 2 potatoes
  30. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  31. As Per Taste Salt
  32. As Required Oil for deep frying

Steps to make to make Postor bora, Bhaja moong Dal,Aloo bhaja Bengali style Lunch

  1. Making Aloo Bhaja -
    First peel off the potatoes, then grate the potatoes and wash nicely plenty of water to remove excess starch. Now strain with strainer remove all water and add turmeric powder, salt and mix it well.
  2. Heat sufficient oil in a Kadai and deep fry batch-wise, until it becomes golden brown and crispy, then remove on tissue paper. Crispy aloo bhaja is ready.
  3. Making Bhaja moong Dal -
    First dry roast the yellow moong dal then wash with hot water. Take a pressure cooker add washed dal and sufficient water, turmeric powder, salt, cover, and allow to cook for 2 whistles. Then take it out in a bowl and keep it aside.
  4. Heat oil and ghee in a Kadai add cumin seeds, tej patta, green chilies, red chilies, ginger paste, cumin powder, and fry them well then add boiled dal and cook it well. Now add frid coconut pieces, sugar, ghee and boiled another 3-4 minutes. Bhaja moong dal is ready.
  5. Making Poppy seeds patties -
    Take a grinder jar add puff rice and grind, keep aside.
    Now add poppy seeds, green chilies, and little water and grind a coarse paste and keep aside. (Do not make a fine paste)
  6. Take a bowl add poppy seeds paste, grated coconut, chopped onion, 2 tbsp puff rice powder, salt, sugar powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and mix it nicely with hand and make small flat patties shape with this mixture.
  7. Take a plate spread some poppy seeds and little rice flour. Now coat the poppy patties with this mixture, the patties are ready to be fried.
  8. Heat oil in a pan, when oil is hot, low the flame and add patties and shallow fry them. When one side is fried flip to the other side and fry it well. When both sides are fried, till it turns golden brown and taken out on tissue paper. Poppy seeds patties are ready.
  9. Finally, enjoy Poster Bora(Poppy seeds patties) with Dal Rice.😋😋.
